  3. We are really enjoying reading about your trip. Your Mom & Dad shared some of your writings with us during our trip to Williamsburg. We had a great time just being together. Lots of rain…power outages but good fellowship together. We agree with Rory about some of the foods. They would make a sure fire way to lose weight. Give our love to Rory and Nora. Keep the updates coming. We Love you….ARJ & S

  9. dear Chrislyn,
It looks like you are havng quite an adventure, lots of fun and getting to meet lots of people. Rory and Nora seem to be so accepting of where they are and who they are with—I am sure that they are following your lead. You are an incredible person. I miss you.
I got your post card. I am adding it to my breastfeeding collection. I sent an email on thanksgiving not too sure if you are reading emails or sticking just to this. I can certainly understand not wanting to be on electronics when you have all the world to experiece.
The warm”ish” weather looks wonderful. we are deep into snow. I x-country skied, for the first time since my accident last february, thursday. Yipppee! I did it. We cut our christmas tree, spent the day at the yurt and then steve skied with it on his should back to the car.
today is Jim’s 19th birthday. big breath. He has some friends coming over to play axis and allies and have pizza. tomorrow we will celebrate as a family.
    I love you,

  13. Hey world travelers! Your site is fantastic. We miss you. I can’t believe you left over a year ago. So I have a question…can my church send comfort supplies to your husband’s unit? They started a collection about a month ago (After Thanksgiving) and asked me for help with locating a recipient for the treats. I totally understand whatever you decide. I just don’t have a lot of close friends with deployed soldiers and finding deployed units on line is not easy. Anyway, Take care, enjoy your adventures and smile as often as possible.

I just checked in for the first time in a couple of months. WOW…I am glad that Rory is getting back to normal, how scary! Thanks for the post card.

How is Brandon? Have you hooked up for his R&R? Spring has arrived in P’burg and it is beautiful. Yes, you are welcome to stay with us when you come here for a visit. Much love, Z.

  23. Hi Lady! I’ve been hearing rumors of this trip and this blog, and am just now getting to see it. Fantastic! You have a beautiful family. I hope to catch up with you on your next visit to Sylva. Cheers! Rose

  24. The children are changing so much, beautifully so. Amazing pictures you send!
Here it is sweet corn and butterbean time! Blackberries, too. (There is a famous quote from Welty and Faulkner about this when they were saavoring mid-day fare in Paris.)
I had the joy of having Ella Miranda with me solo for a week! Then Sally Britt, John B., and Ruby came for a long weekend. We picked vegetables of every kind at my friends’ garden. That night Ruby was gobbling butterbeans off of her plate and anyone else’s within reach!
    We miss you. Be safe.
Love and hugs to all of you.

I just looked over your blog entries for the first time in a long time…Rory! Love the haircut! Eli is missing you, asking about you, praying for you…wondering when you’ll be back. We all love you all and it is awesome to see all the things you’re seeing, at least in small part. We love you and look forward to seeing you again soon…when are you coming back this way?

  27. Chrislyn,

I followed your blog for a while (thanks for my dad) but haven’t checked back in until today. I just sent you an email but decided it might be wise to post a comment here since I’m not sure the email I have for you is still good.

I’m sorry we kinda lost touch. Been wanting to reconnect for a while now. Logan is 5 and started kindergarten after Labor Day — a Waldorf school. Waverly is 2 1/2 and is quite a character. Katie is in the process of trying to start a doula business.

I’m at VCU, fundraising for the School of Nursing and contemplating what’s next, including pursuing a PhD through a VCU program called Media, Art and Text.

How is your granny? Something recently made me think about her and you (it may have been when I took a detour to Micro on the way back from a Benson visit to point out Grandma’s house to Logan).

Which reminds me … Did I ever show you the film I made with my grandma, the one about her biscuits? Here’s the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAFbDzXe7-Q

Hope you, Brandon, Nora and Rory are doing well.

    Love,

    James
